JAYAPURA - The Representative Office (KPw) of Papua Bank Indonesia said that the people of the five outer islands in Cenderawasih Earth were very enthusiastic about exchanging new money.
This was obtained from the 2024 Sovereign Rupiah Expedition Team (ERB) report, which conducts mobile cash exchange services in Disadvantaged, Frontier and Outermost (3T) areas.
"From the ERB Team's report, people on the five 3T islands are very enthusiastic about exchanging money to get new money, especially in addition to mobile cash exchange services, the ERB Team also provides education to the community, teachers, and students about Love, Pride, and Understanding (CBP) Rupiah."
"The focus of the material presented is to recognize the characteristics of the authenticity of Rupiah notes, how to treat money properly, and be proud and understand Rupiah," he said.
He added that in addition, students from elementary schools along with principals and teachers were allowed to be able to visit KRI Mata Bongsang 873 to foster a sense of nationalism and introduce the role of the Navy in maintaining the integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia," explained Head of Bank Indonesia Representative Office Faturachman in Jayapura, Wednesday.

Mobile cash exchange services from the ERB Team are carried out in retail to the public and wholesale from banks.
"The ERB team brought a capital of IDR 13.8 billion, which consists of denominations of IDR 1,000 to IDR 100,000, which has been absorbed by 100 percent of UTLE," he explained.
Faturachman added, on Monday (20/5) as many as 16 ERB teams had arrived in Jayapura using KRI Mata Bongsang 873 where the ship had sailed a distance of 1,106 Nautica Mile for eight days to reach the 3T area, namely Pai Island, Owi Island, Yapen Island, Numfor Island, and Bras Island.
