JAKARTA - Acting Governor of Papua, Ridwan Rumasukun attended the 2024 National Coordination Meeting of the Regional Inflation Control Team at the State Palace, Jakarta, Friday (14/6/2024).
The meeting was chaired by President Joko Widodo, and attended by some related ministers.
In his direction, Rumasukun stated that President Jokowi expressed his gratitude to the Central Inflation Control Team and the Regional Inflation Control Team.
"Earlier, the President expressed his appreciation to those of us who have worked hard, who have tried hard, to control inflation. The President asked not to let his guard down because Indonesia's inflation was at 2.84 percent at the end of last May," said Rumasukun at the State Palace.
This appreciation is certainly a matter of pride for the Papua Provincial Government, considering that currently the main province in the land of paradise is included in the 10 provinces with the lowest inflation rate.
From May 2023 to May 2024, inflation in Papua Province decreased from 2.39 percent to 2.18 percent.
"This is a good achievement from us (Papua Province) because it can reduce the inflation rate," said Rumasukun.
For the achievement of reducing inflation, Rumasukun also asked the Acting Regents, Acting Mayors and the Regional Inflation Control Team (TPID) to keep solid in working together and collaborating to maintain this stable inflation rate.
"We all continue to collaborate and synergize with stakeholders because it will make it easier for us to face challenges in dealing with inflation," he said.
In addition to providing direction on handling inflation, Rumasukun continued, President Jokowi also asked acting regional heads to remain enthusiastic about carrying out their term of office for the next three months.
"Earlier, he (President Jokowi) asked all of us (acting regional heads) to remain enthusiastic in the remaining three months of this term," said Rumasukun.
