JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua, Ridwan Rumasukun again made a working visit to the Yapen and Waropen Islands Regencies, Thursday (27/6/2024).
Governor Ridwan symbolically handed over various assistance from the Papua Provincial Government to the local government.
Among them, 40 units of solar home systems, 1 unit of ambulance car, 4 units of VSAT, 40 tons of rice reserve assistance and others.
During his visit, Governor Ridwan was accompanied by the Papua Regional Secretary, the Heads of the Regional Apparatus Organization and the Acting Chairman of the Papua PKK TP.
Upon arrival in Yapen Islands Regency, Governor Ridwan and his entourage headed directly to Kamanap Village. He, the Acting Regent of the Yapen Islands and elements of the Coordination Forum for Regional Leaders planted chili peppers there.
"The planting of chili peppers is the government's effort to anticipate inflation in Yapen because the price has increased in Yapen," he said on the sidelines of his visit.
After planting, Governor Ridwan continued his working visit to Waropen Regency. The working visit looked at the implementation of the government, especially programs to handle extreme poverty, stunting, inflation and polio immunization.
"All programs are going well, even though inflation has risen slightly in Waropen due to the soaring price of chili peppers up to 150 thousand per kilogram," said Ridwan.
The Regent of Waropen, Yermias Bisai, appreciated the Acting Governor of Papua for the various assistance provided to his citizens.
"On behalf of the entire Waropen community, we would like to express our deepest gratitude," said the regent. ***
