JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government is certain to immediately encourage the discussion of the 2025 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (RAPBD) Draft this month.
According to Assistant II of the Papua Provincial Secretariat, Setyo Wahyudi, the discussion is encouraged so that the implementation can run in January 2025.
"We are worried that if the discussion of the 2025 master APBD is carried out with new members of the DPRP, then the ratification could be late."
"Because the new DPRP will still form a council apparatus (AKD) after the inauguration of the definitive leader," said Setyo in Jayapura, Thursday (19/9/2024).
Therefore, he continued, before the term of office of the Papuan House of Representatives ends, the Main Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget must be immediately discussed and determined.
"Again, if we wait until the new DPRP members, it is certain that the discussion will be delayed until January next year," he said.
Meanwhile, related to the 2024 Revised APBD, Setyo hopes that the spending process can run as soon as possible, so that in the remaining three months, budget absorption can be accelerated.
"Hopefully, this change will provide the greatest benefits for the welfare of the people and the sustainability of development in Papua," he said. ***
