JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Government disseminated a Memorandum of Understanding on coordination between the Government's Internal Supervision Apparatus (APIP) and Law Enforcement Officers (APH) in handling reports and public complaints on implementing local government.
The Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, opened the activity on the 9th floor of the local Governor's office, Soa Siu Dok II, Jayapura City, Wednesday (25/9/2024).
It was attended by regents and mayors, the Prosecutor's Office and Police Chiefs as well as heads of agencies throughout Papua.
In his direction, Ramses Limbong said that the activity was a form of joint commitment between APIP and APH after the Memorandum of Understanding was signed on January 25, 2023, by the Minister of Home Affairs and the Attorney General and the National Police Chief.
Socialization activities are also useful in assisting the Papua Provincial Government in handling complaints and reports so that the administration of government can run well, transparently, accountable and free from corruption, collusion and nepotism.
"The point is that the Papua Provincial Government continues to make efforts in eradicating corruption in Papua."
"I hope that this memorandum of understanding runs and is aligned in the provinces and districts/cities, APIP and APH can collaborate in providing certainty and clarity on coordination procedures without affirming or overriding each other's duties, functions and authorities in decision-making on handling reports and community complaints in the implementation of local government," he said.
Limbong added that this socialization is very helpful for the Government but most importantly there is a strong desire and determination of all parties to implement corruption eradication programs consistently and sustainably in Papua. ***
