JAYAPURA – Acting Head of the Papua Provincial Trade and Industry Office, Hartati Sofia Iwanggin, has assured that staple food prices in Papua remain stable ahead of Ramadan.
This price stability has been directly coordinated by the local Trade Office. "I have coordinated with distributors, and our staple food supply is sufficient," Hartati stated.
She added that, following central government directives, her office will conduct market operations and organize affordable markets.
However, she noted that the affordable markets will be adjusted based on the regional financial situation, in line with budget efficiency measures. "The trade office plans to hold three affordable market events," Hartati said.
She also urged the public to avoid excessive shopping and reassured them about the availability of staple goods.
"There is no need to stockpile staple foods, as our supply is sufficient and prices remain stable," she concluded. ***
