JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has officially issued Circular Letter No. 400.8.1/2271/SET regarding the adjustment of working days and hours for Civil Servants (ASN) during the month of Ramadan 2025.
The circular, signed by Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, on February 27, 2025, follows up on Presidential Regulation No. 21 of 2023 concerning Working Days and Hours for Government Agencies.
According to the circular, the working hours for regional government offices that follow a five-day workweek (Monday–Friday) during Ramadan are as follows:
Working hours: 08:00 AM – 03:00 PM
Break time (Monday–Thursday): 12:00 PM – 12:30 PM
Break time (Friday): 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM
Meanwhile, for government offices or work units that implement a shift-based system, the working hours will be adjusted by each respective department head. However, the total effective working hours per week must still meet the minimum requirement of 32.5 hours while ensuring optimal organizational performance and public service delivery.
Additionally, the circular also states that during Ramadan, the Monday morning briefing will be suspended for all regional government offices. ***
