JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government is tightening civil servant administrative records to prevent overpaying salaries.
Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, has instructed all Regional Government Work Units to update employee data regularly.
“We must ensure data is accurate, especially regarding salaries and employment status. No retired employees should still be receiving salaries,” Ramses stated in Jayapura on Friday.
He emphasized that data must be updated at least six months before retirement to avoid overpayments.
If violations are found, the concerned civil servant must return any excess funds received.
According to him, data validation is essential to ensure a well-organized personnel budget. The government wants to ensure that only eligible employees receive their salaries.
“Civil service administration must be orderly, as it involves regional finances and the rights of active employees,” he concluded. ***
