JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, hosted an Iftar gathering with journalists in Jayapura on Friday (March 21, 2025).
The event aimed to strengthen the relationship between the government and the media in Papua.
"I hope we can become closer and continue to collaborate. All published information about development must be accurate so that the public receives the right news," Ramses said in his speech.
The event was attended by the Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, Yohanis Walilo, along with assistants and heads of regional government offices within the Papua Provincial Government.
Ramses emphasized that the local government needs media support in disseminating information about ongoing and upcoming development programs.
According to him, the media is not only responsible for delivering information but also serves as a social watchdog, helping the government implement policies that benefit the public.
"We need the support of journalists to ensure that development in Papua progresses optimally. The media is a strategic partner of the government," he stated. ***
