JAYAPURA – Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, has urged the newly inaugurated Regent and Deputy Regent of Jayapura to prioritize regional development.
During the inauguration ceremony at the Papua Governor’s Office on Tuesday (March 25, 2025), Ramses emphasized the importance of leaders being present among the people.
"Jayapura Regency must set an example for Papua. The leaders must work with heart," said Ramses.
He also reminded them of budget constraints due to regional expansion. "With reduced revenue, we must drive local innovation. Regional Original Revenue must be increased by optimizing local potential," he stated.
Additionally, Ramses highlighted the need for synergy with the central government, particularly in national programs such as tackling malnutrition and controlling regional inflation.
According to him, key sectors such as agriculture, tourism, and fisheries should be prioritized. "We must achieve food security at the district level," he concluded.
It is noted that Yunus Wonda and Haris Richard Yoku have officially taken office as Regent and Deputy Regent of Jayapura for the 2025-2030 period. The inauguration took place at the Papua Governor’s Office on Tuesday (March 25, 2025). ***
