JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has finally fulfilled its promise by disbursing bonuses to athletes who excelled in the 2024 PON and Peparnas events.

The bonuses were transferred directly to the bank accounts of athletes, coaches, and assistants on Thursday (March 27).

Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, stated that the total bonus fund allocated reached IDR 25 billion, which was included in the 2025 Regional Budget.

“As we previously promised, we allocated this bonus in the 2025 Regional Budget,” said Ramses.

He explained that the disbursement process took time due to administrative requirements, such as tax identification numbers, bank account details, and clear addresses.

“We ensure that the full amount is directly transferred to each athlete’s account,” Governor Ramses Limbong confirmed.

The bonus for individual gold medalists in both PON and Peparnas is IDR 120 million. Although the amount is lower than in previous editions, he hopes that athletes will remain grateful and use this as motivation to continue excelling. ***
