JAYAPURA– Suzana Wanggai has been officially appointed as the Acting Regional Secretary of Papua, replacing Yohanes Walilo.
The inauguration was carried out by the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, at the Lukmen Hall on Friday (April 25, 2025).
Yohanes Walilo previously held the position for six months. Governor Ramses stated that the rotation of positions is part of the dynamics of government administration.
“The position of Acting Regional Secretary can be replaced or extended every six months,” Ramses said after the ceremony.
He believes the newly appointed official can continue and improve upon the foundations laid by her predecessor. “I invite all parties to support the steps taken by the new Acting Regional Secretary in her work,” he added.
Suzana Wanggai expressed her gratitude after being inaugurated. She stated that this role is a trust given by the state that must be carried out responsibly.
“This is a mandate from God and the nation that I must fulfill,” said Suzana.
She emphasized her commitment to support the governor and ensure the success of key upcoming agendas. One of her main priorities is overseeing the Revote.
“I will coordinate with various stakeholders, especially concerning budgeting and technical readiness. We must ensure the revote is successful—this is a major agenda for Papua,” she affirmed.
She also highlighted the importance of maintaining the neutrality of civil servants. “As the commander of the civil service corps, I must ensure that everyone remains neutral,” she stated. ***
