JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, through the Public Works and Spatial Planning Agency (PUPR) of Papua, has submitted data to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works (PUPR Ministry) regarding the Three Million Homes program.
This was conveyed by Robert Awi, the Acting Head of the Papua PUPR Office. He stated that the program targets housing development in various areas, from urban to rural and coastal regions, to reduce disparities in housing access across Indonesia, including Papua.
“The data we submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Public Works proposed nine regencies/cities in Papua to be included in the Three Million Homes program,” said Robert.
He explained that the data collected includes residents living in uninhabitable houses.
It was also mentioned that assistance from the central government in the Three Million Homes program does not go through the provincial level but is sent directly to the regencies/cities in Papua.
“The assistance will go directly to the regencies/cities, we are only responsible for preparing the data,” he said.
The Three Million Homes program, initiated by President Prabowo, aims to address the housing needs of low-income communities and impoverished citizens who currently lack adequate housing. ***
