Papua Governor Lukas Enembe confirmed that one of the charismatic figures of Papua, Theis Eluay will become the name of the airport.
It is Jayapura Sentani Airport, which was confirmed to be renamed Theis Eluay on October 20, 2020.
The name Theis Eluay is enshrined, as a tribute to one of Sentani indigenous leaders as well as the owner of land rights at the airport.
"We will inaugurate Jayapura Sentani Airport, transformed into Theis Eluay. The inauguration will be on October 20, 2020 along with the inauguration of the entire PON XX 2021 venue," explained Lukas.
Lukas also confirmed that Papuans will open up the data of OAP collected by all districts and cities.
The number of OAP is recorded as more than 2.3 million. The data will also be presented to the central government.
In addition, Lukas confirmed that he will inaugurate the renaming of Papua Bangkit Stadium to Lukas Enembe.
"I will come to attend the inauguration of all PON venues that have been completed by third parties, as well as the name change of Papua Bangkit Stadium, then the change of the name of Sentani airport".
