The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe reported the progress of preparations for National Sports Week (PON) XX 2021 to the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian, Monday (5/4/2021) at the State Building, Jayapura.
The Minister of Home Affairs visits Papua to see the readiness of National Sports Week in Papua, the day before he was in Mimika Regency reviewing a number of venues.
"National Sports Week of Papua is ready, we have also reported to the Minister of Home Affairs that Papua has proposed additional funds for the preparation of National Sports Week of IDR 1.6 trillion to the central government".
"And the central government is ready to help with the additional funds," Governor Lukas told the press, after a closed-meeting with the Minister of Home Affairs, this afternoon.
Meanwhile, in the meeting, continued Lukas, Minister of Home Affairs Tito hopes that the implementation of National Sports Week XX Year 2021 in Papua can run well and successfully.
So to be sure, he has instructed the entire development agenda in 2021 will be focused on the preparation of National Sports Week implementation.
"So that it can be successful and there should be no additional agenda.”
"To be sure, we in Papua focus on the National Sports Week agenda and I again want to make the implementation of National Sports Week successful. Anyway, all parties in Papua must think about security well maintained to succeed National Sports Week," he explained.
About the issue of his travel to PNG, the Governor claimed to have apologized and explained to the Minister of Home Affairs that he went to find traditional medicine.
"Our visit was also not questioned by the PNG government. So I encourage the public to not to be provoked by hoax news," he hoped.
