The Papua Provincial Government encourages companies and informal workers in their region to immediately register as participants of BPJAMSOSTEK.
This is so that workers and their families get the protection program of Work Accident Insurance (JKK), Death Insurance (JKM), Old Age Guarantee (JHT), and Health Care Insurance (JPK).
"This program is also in accordance with Decree No. 5 of 2021 on the procedure of organizing a guarantee program for workers in Indonesia," explained Regional Secretary of Papua Province Dance Yulian Flassy, in Jayapura, Thursday.
The Regional Secretary said that the positive thing about being a participant of BPJAMSOSTEK can be seen from the granting of educational scholarships to 34 Papuan children, whose parents are participants of the Work Accident Insurance (JKK) and Death Insurance (JKM) programs.
So that the submission of scholarship benefits for children who participate in JKK and JKM programs, called Regional Secretary as a value added, compensation or profit received.
"It is also proof that the state is present for people to Papua," he said.
Head of BPJAMSOSTEK Office of Papua Jayapura Branch, I Ketut Arja Leksana said the submission of scholarship benefits for children of JKK and JKM program participants, is the realization of Decree No. 82 of 2019 and the emergence of Decree No. 5 of 2021.
From December 2019 to April 2020, there were 34 students in Papua eligible for benefits.
"Nevertheless, it cannot be detailed each level of education from elementary, junior high, high school to higher education," he said.
He explained, after the symbolic handover by the Regional Secretary of Papua a day ago, his party promised to immediately complete the awarding of scholarships before Eid al-Fitr 1442 Hijri, according to the instructions of the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia.
Known for the program namely JKK and JKM, as many as two children who are the maximum heirs will receive IDR 174 million if financed from elementary school to higher education.
