Papua Governor Lukas Enembe reminded the committee of National Sports Week (PON) XX and National Paralympic Week (Peparnas) XVI Papua 2021 to carefully manage the multi-national event budget.
He did not want National Sports Week and National Paralympic Week fund managers to have to deal with law enforcement officials after the two national events were completed.
"The Governor asked the committee of National Sports Week and National Paralympic Week and KONI Papua, to be more careful (using the existing budget) so as not to become an obstacle (legal issue) in the future".
"The point is not to let the result of the disrespect cause things that we do not want after PON," said Lukas Enembe in a Zoom Meeting with the board of the committee of National Sports Week and National Paralympic Week and KONI Papua, Monday (2/8/2021), as conveyed by his Spokesman, Muhammad Rifai Darus.
The virtual meeting was also attended by all Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD) within the Papua Provincial Government.
The Governor, still according to Jubir Rifai, also instructed the relevant agencies in the Papua Provincial Government to encourage the acceleration of the completion of PON venues. So that it can be immediately conducted athletes' competitive tests throughout the venue.
"This means that before the venue is completed, all athletes must be drawn to Papua for the venue readiness test or competitive test," he said.
In addition to discussing the implementation of PON and Peparnas, Lukas also discussed the issue of PPKM (Enforcement of Community Restrictions) during the current COVID-19 pandemic.
Where it expressed full support of the decision made, as long as it aims to suppress and control the transmission of coronavirus in Papua.
