JAYAPURA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of Papua recorded Gini Ratio in urban areas in March 2022 of 0.315. This value increased compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 of 0.307. Similarly, compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 of 0.301.
"If the Gini Ratio in rural areas is recorded at 0.427 in March 2022, it is compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.419 and also an increase when compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.422," said Head of Central Statistics Agency of Papua, Adriana Helena Carolina, in Jayapura, Wednesday.
Meanwhile, the level of inequality in population expenditure in her region, continued Adriana, if measured by the Gini Ratio, reached 0.406 in March 2022.
This figure increased by 0.001 points compared to the Gini Ratio in September 2021 which was 0.396.
"Meanwhile, compared to the Gini Ratio in March 2021 which was 0.397, it increased by 0.009 points," she explained.
As of March 2022, the distribution of expenditures in the bottom 40 percent of the population of Papua Province was 15.46 percent. This means that population expenditure in Papua is in the category of moderate level of inequality.
"Only if it is broken down by region, in urban areas the figure is recorded at 21.89 percent which meansIt is in the category of low inequality," she added. ***
