JAYAPURA - The disruption of telecommunications services, both internet and voice networks, has occurred recently not to disturb government services in Papua Province.
This was conveyed by the Head of the Communication and Informatics Department of Papua Province Jeri Yudianto to the press via his cell phone on Friday (10/3/2023) in Jayapura.
According to him, the network disruption on Thursday (9/3/2023) had indeed stopped government services for a while. However, it is only in some Regional Apparatus Organizations (OPD).
Nevertheless, the service returned to normal because the main service of the Papua Provincial Government server uses Astinet, not Telkom.
"Only a few OPDs have experienced problems due to intra-network such as Indhihome and Orbit (Telkom) services. So that the service is stopped until the recovery process gradually returns."
"But I want to say that the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) or e-Government Papua Province service is still running. For this reason, we hope that mass disruption of telecommunications can be resolved because many government activities use internet access," he said.
Telkom Witel Papua GM Agus Widhiarsana confirmed that the telecommunications disruption in Jayapura, Thursday (9/3), occurred in the Sulawesi-Maluku-Papua Cable System (SMPCS) sea cable communication system.
Telecommunication network disruptions in Jayapura and surrounding areas occurred since morning. But now it has gradually returned to normal. ***
