JAYAPURA - The celebration of Eid Al-Adha 2023 in Papua has again received President Jokowi’s attention by donating one sacrificial cow to the Papua Provincial Government.
According to the Head of the Agriculture and Food Security Department of Papua, Semuel Siriwa, a selection process is currently underway for a sacrificial cow from President Joko Widodo which will be handed over to the provincial government.
After passing a health examination, the sacrificial animal then received an Animal Health Certificate and a recommendation for selected cattle from the Agriculture and Food Security Department of Papua.
“After being handed over to the Papua Provincial Government, sacrificial cows from President Jokowi will be given to the Al Amin Angkasa Mosque, Jayapura City," Siriwa explained to the press, Wednesday (21/6/2023).
If according to plan, Siriwa added, the delivery of sacrificial cows and Post Mortem checks will be located at the recipient's mosque. The implementation was carried out a day before and during the commemoration of Eid Al-Adha.
"The sacrificial cow will be slaughtered at Masjid Al Amin. Then the meat is distributed to local residents," he said.
Regarding veterinary paramedics from the Agriculture and Food Security Department of Papua, relevant agencies are preparing for the supervision and inspection of livestock ahead of Eid Al-Adha.
Veterinary paramedics along with other field officers will also conduct supervision and examination in Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency and Keerom.
