JAYAPURA - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin is back in Papua. He will be in Papua for 4 days (9 - 12 October).
Starting his first day in office in the easternmost province of Indonesia, he held a Coordination Meeting with the Acting Governors of Papua, Central Papua, Highland Papua, South Papua, West Papua and Southwest Papua.
At the meeting which was centered at the Governor Office, Jayapura, Tuesday (10/10/2023), the Vice President was accompanied by the Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs John Wempi Wetipo.
After the meeting, Vice President Amin told reporters that he was amazed by the grandeur of the Papua Governor office, which was inaugurated in December 2022. He also became very comfortable and seemed to want to linger in the office left by the former Governor of Papua Lukas Enembe.
"This is amazing, the building is magnificent, but the sea view makes me feel like I don't want to go home," said Amin.
During his visit, Vice President Amin, Chairman of the Special Autonomy Acceleration Steering Board (BP3OKP) will meet with local human rights activists and religious leaders to discuss human rights issues in Papua as well as meetings with local businessmen.
Meanwhile, on Wednesday (11/10/2023), the Vice President will carry out a number of agendas at the Papua Bangkit Main Stadium, Jayapura, Papua. Among them visited the Lukas Enembe stadium and received local sports figures.
Thursday (12/10/2023), Ma'ruf Amin went to Wamena Airport, attended the groundbreaking of the facilities and infrastructure of Highland Papua Province and met the ranks of the Mountain Papua Provincial Government, the Regent of Mountain Papua, and community leaders in Mountain Papua.
Furthermore, signing the inscription laying the first stone of facilities and infrastructure of the South Papua Provincial Government Office. ***
