JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong and elements of the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum of Papua carried out sports together on Friday.
The fun walk, which starts from the Governor's Office, around the Pacific Permai Shophouse area and returns to the Governor's Office, aims to synergize and maintain the neutrality of civil servants and the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) in the 2024 simultaneous regional elections, especially in Papua.
Meanwhile, the Acting Governor of Papua, Major General Ramses Limbong, in his direction on the sidelines of the fun walk and morning gymnastics, asked that it needs to continue to be carried out to create safe and peaceful conditions after the registration stage for regional head candidates on August 29, 2024.
"Because the civil servants and the Indonesian National Defence Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) have a big contribution to this grand event of the democratic process."
"We must be completely neutral and remain professional in continuing to carry out their duties and functions, until whoever the regional leadership is elected later," said Limbong.
On the same occasion, Pangdam XVII/Cenderawasih Major General TNI Rudi Puruwito, who has only been carrying out his duties for 16 days, reminded his members regarding the importance of maintaining brotherhood and harmony among fellow organizers, especially in the regions.
So that they synergize with each other to create a better, safer and peaceful Papua, especially ahead of the implementation of the 2024 Regional Elections.
"It is hoped that this joint sports activity will continue to be encouraged because it is also good for maintaining our health," he said.
