JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong made a working visit in Kemtukgresi District, Jayapura Regency, Friday (13/9/2024).

The existence of Governor Limbong and his staff is to ensure the readiness of the local government in the implementation of the upcoming simultaneous regional elections on November 27, 2024 and directly monitor the implementation of government and development, especially national and regional priority strategic programs.

Nevertheless, Governor Limbong in his direction emphasized that the local government should strengthen local wisdom and culture-based development. At the same time, it ensures that development does not ignore the rights of indigenous peoples.

"Because local culture and wisdom are our identities that must be maintained," explained Limbong in his direction at the Jayapura Regent Office.

Especially for the preparation for the Regional Head Election, Limbong hopes that the preparation must be successful. He also invited all parties in Jayapura Regency to maintain neutrality and security during the election process.

"The Jayapura Regional Government must also increase public participation in the election by providing good political education," he exclaimed.

Meanwhile, for inflation control and poverty reduction, Limbong asked local regional heads to strive to maintain the availability of necessities and price stability in the market. Among them is conducting regular market operations to prevent an increase price of goods and services in general.

As for the handling of stunting and polio, local governments are obliged to optimize extreme poverty alleviation by ensuring that nutrition and child health programs run optimally.

"Collaborate with related parties to accelerate the reduction of stunting rates. Then make sure all children get complete polio immunization," he said.

During a working visit to Jayapura Regency, Governor Limbong launched food reserves and handed over assistance symbolically, including 7.94 tons of rice. Then the provision of local food packages to 80 children for stunting control and additional food ingredients for pregnant women, including other medicines. ***
