JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong reminded the Selection Committee of DPRK members for the 2024-2024 period of Special Autonomy appointment to work by the laws and regulations.
He ensured that he would not sign the decree on the appointment of elected DPRK members if the selection process were proven to violate the laws and regulations.
This was conveyed by Governor Ramses after a Coffee Morning with the Papuan People's Assembly (MRP) and the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum in Jayapura City, Thursday (10/10/2024).
"There are complaints and reports from the public to the MRP related to the Selection Committee of DPRK. That's what we discussed earlier. Therefore, I ask the Selection Committee of DPRK to work honestly and fairly by the provisions of the law."
"Because if it is still not by the procedure, I will not sign," said Ramses.
Ramses ensured that he did not want to participate in the election with the results of the DPRK Selection Committee. Because he has no interest but hopes that the stages of filling DPRK membership in Papua can run safely and peacefully.
"I hope this process runs safely and peacefully so that we can build Papua in the future," he explained.
It is known that the allocation of seats for the DPRK of each district/city in Jayapura City is a maximum of 9 seats; Jayapura Regency has a maximum of 8 seats, Keerom Regency has a maximum of 5 seats, Sarmi Regency has a maximum of 5 seats, Biak Numfor Regency has a maximum of 6 seats, and Supiori Regency has a maximum of 5 seats.
Furthermore, Yapen Islands Regency has a maximum of 6 seats, Waropen Regency has a maximum of 5 seats and Mamberamo Raya Regency has a maximum of 5 seats. ***
