JAYAPURA—Acting Regional Secretary of Papua Yohanes Walilo said that 23 years of Special Autonomy in Papua have had many positive effects on the community.
This can be seen in constructing roads, bridges, public facilities, clean water, health services, hospitals and schools.
"We cannot close our eyes that many things have been done with the Special Autonomy," explained Walilo in Jayapura City, Thursday (21/11/2024).
According to Walilo, during the 23 years of Special Autonomy in Papua, there have also been many programs that have been carried out and have an impact on local human resources (HR).
Among them, are scholarship programs for students at the provincial and district/city levels, before and after the expansion of the New Autonomous Region.
Nevertheless, Walilo hopes that it is necessary to sit together with all relevant parties to evaluate the implementation of Special Autonomy in the land of Papua.
"We need to sit together to evaluate the past Special Autonomy."
"Then determine what we will do in the future," he concluded. ***
