JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong hopes that the cheap market promoted by the local government will have a positive impact and will be directly felt by the community.
It is also considered important to maintain the national inflation target of 2.5 plus or minus one percent to positively impact people's welfare.
"Of course, I hope that activities can be maximized and the impact will be felt directly by the community," he said on the sidelines of the cheap market, in Jayapura, Wednesday (4/12/2024).
Limbong also hopes that cheap market activities by the Papua Regional Development Bank (BPD) can help control inflation, especially ahead of the 2025 Christmas and New Year holidays.
"I hope that this cheap market activity can also be carried out by other banks in Papua Province so that it helps ease the burden on the community," he asked.
Finance Director of Bank Papua, Sadar Sebayang stated that this cheap market is a routine agenda every moment of religious holidays.
"Our cheap market is carried out for three days to 6th December, it will also be held in districts/cities," he said.
Sadar added that this activity is also one of Bank Papua's efforts to socialize non-cash payments and other products.The
