JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Minimum Wage (UMP) value has been agreed to increase by 6.5 percent in 2025.
The agreement is between the Papua Provincial Government and the wage council in the local area and will soon be determined and announced by the Governor of Papua.
"The results of the calculation of the Papua Provincial Minimum Wage have been received and determined on December 6, 2024," explained the Head of the Papua Provincial Manpower Office, Robert Eddy Purwoko, in Jayapura, Tuesday (10/12/2024).
He explained that with an increase of 6.5 percent in 2025, the Provincial Minimum Wage which was previously IDR 4,024,270 increased to IDR 4,285,850 with an increase of IDR 261,578.
Meanwhile, the sectoral minimum wage in Papua in 2025 is IDR 4,307,280 or an increase of IDR 21,429 (0.5 percent).
Eddy added that the 2025 Papua Provincial Minimum Wage increase will be officially announced by the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong.
The Provincial Minimum Wage Increase will take effect on January 1, 2025 for all districts/cities throughout Papua.
Previously, the Minister of Manpower, Yassierli, had issued a Regulation of the Minister of Manpower Number 16/2024 concerning Wages.
It states that the Provincial Minimum Wage and Regency/City Minimum Wage will increase by 6.5 percent and take effect from January 1, 2025. ***
