JAYAPURA – To follow up on various strategic agendas, the Papua Provincial Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) led by Mr. Sapto Agung Riyadi, SE., M.Si held an audience with the Acting Governor of Papua, Maj. Gen. (Ret.) Ramses Limbong, S.IP., M.Si, Friday, January 24, 2025. The meeting highlighted several important steps in supporting accountable governance and focusing on strengthening development in Papua.
The Head of Provincial Financial and Development Supervisory Agency of Papua, Sapto Agung Riyadi, SE., M.Si conveyed strategic steps, especially following up on the Supervision Coordination Meeting which emphasized three main aspects: Evaluation of Planning and Budgeting, Increasing Regional Original Revenue, and Efforts to Prevent Budget Leakage.
Sapto also said that in early February 2025, BPKP will conduct an in-depth evaluation of planning and budgeting, especially related to the Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD). Papua will be one of the samples in the Land of Papua in five priority sectors, namely:
Education, Stunting Management, Health, Poverty Alleviation, and other strategic programs that are directly related to the welfare of the Papuan people. BPKP also follows up on requests for audits or reviews of several special activities in Papua. This application aims to ensure transparency, accountability, and effectiveness in priority program implementation of local governments.
The Acting Governor of Papua, Major General (Ret.) Ramses Limbong expressed his high appreciation for the visit and the strategic steps that have been initiated by BPKP. Sapto affirmed his commitment to work together to ensure good governance in Papua.
Furthermore, Ramses Limbong emphasized the focus of Papua's development on the agriculture, marine, and tourism sectors. These three sectors are expected to be the main driving force in improving community welfare and supporting economic growth in Papua. ***
