JAYAPURA - Acting Head of the Papua Regional Inspectorate, Danny Korwa, revealed that his party had withdrawn as many as 90 official vehicles that were previously used by members of the Papuan House of Representatives. Of these, 19 vehicles will be auctioned immediately according to applicable procedures.
"There are 23 units of vehicles that have been distributed, including for officials, regional secretaries, managers, heads of Regional Apparatus Work Unit, and others. Currently, there are still 22 vehicles parked in the yard of the Papua Governor's office," said Korwa in Jayapura, Friday (7/2/2025).
According to him, the auction process for official vehicles is carried out in accordance with applicable rules, by collaborating with the Office of State Wealth and Auction Services (KPKNL). However, the process is not easy because the team must conduct an assessment and prepare the necessary files before entering the auction stage.
"We continue to follow the procedure. The team must assess the condition of the vehicle, ensure the completeness of the documents, and then enter the auction process," he said.
In addition to the 19 vehicles that are ready to be auctioned, his party also plans to propose the elimination of other vehicles through the auction mechanism.
"Many vehicles are 10 to 15 years old. If it is returned to the Regional Apparatus Work Unit, the maintenance cost will be high. Therefore, we will conduct an open auction, where the general public and civil servants can participate," he explained.
Korwa also revealed that there are still around 300 official vehicles that have not been ordered. In the near future, his party will start carrying out briefing about vehicle, starting from the General Bureau.
"We will hold a briefing for vehicle and every official vehicle holder is obliged to present it. This briefing will be carried out in stages, from Regional Apparatus Work Unit until all official vehicles that are still in circulation can be ordered," he concluded. ***
