JAYAPURA—The Monitoring Centre for Prevention (MCP) of Papua Province recorded an average achievement of 73.68 percent in 2024.
Although it has not reached the target of 93.53 percent, the success of one of the indicators in achieving 100 percent realization proves the local government's commitment to strengthening corruption prevention.
Acting Head of the Papua Regional Inspectorate, Danny Korwa, said that the achievement of this MCP is an important foothold in improving more transparent and accountable governance.
MCP is an instrument developed by the Corruption Eradication Commission to measure the effectiveness of corruption prevention in local governments.
In Papua, this instrument covers eight strategic areas, including regional budget planning, procurement of goods and services, and optimization of regional taxes.
From the latest report, the Regional Budget Planning indicator recorded an achievement of 100 percent, exceeding the target of 93.75 percent.
Meanwhile, Public Services managed to reach 73.78 percent, showing progress in transparency and access to services to the public.
Danny Korwa emphasized it is the result of the hard work of the local government in optimizing administrative governance.
He also invited all Regional Apparatus Organizations to improve coordination and discipline in administrative management to achieve the overall MCP target.
"We are optimistic that with the improvement of administration and strengthening the role of the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (APIP), the achievements of the Papuan MCP will continue to increase. We also encourage Regional Apparatus Organizations to be more proactive in completing supporting documentation so that the MCP score will be better in the coming year," he said. ***
