SENTANI - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong accompanied by the Acting Regional Secretary, Assistants, Head of Regional Work Unit and Chairman of Family Welfare and Empowerment Organization made a direct visit to the Kalkhote Sentani Tourism area by carrying out a cruise in the waters of Sentani Lake, Jayapura Regency, Friday, February 14, 2025.

The cruise around Sentani Lake aims to review the existing tourism potential and see first-hand the condition of infrastructure and the management of Papua's leading tourist areas.

On this occasion, Ramses Limbong said that Sentani Lake has great potential to be developed as a leading tourist destination in Papua. "Sentani Lake not only has extraordinary natural beauty but also strong cultural values. We must ensure that tourism here develops well, provides benefits to the surrounding community, and supports the local economy," he said.

Ramses Limbong emphasized that the local government will strive to improve tourism support infrastructure, as well as the promotion of Sentani Lake to be better known nationally and internationally. He also asked the relevant agencies to immediately develop a more professional and sustainable tourism management strategy.

"We want Sentani Lake to become one of the best tourism icons in Eastern Indonesia. With good management, this tourism can have a wide economic impact on the people of Papua," he added on the sidelines of a cruise along the waters of Sentani Lake .

The voyage, which was carried out in the waters of Sentani Lake for approximately 2 hours using a motorboat owned by the Ministry of Transportation, was seen to be enjoyed by Ramses Limbong and his entourage. ***
