JAYAPURA - Acting Head of the Papua DKLH, Aries Toteles, said that the threat to the preservation of the Cycloop Nature Reserve is getting higher and requires special attention from all relevant stakeholders.
"Collaboration from various parties is essential to ensure the protection of the ecosystem remains well-maintained and sustainable," he said.
He explained, the Cycloop Nature Reserve has an area of 31 thousand hectares in Jayapura Regency and City.
"This area plays a crucial role as the main water source for the communities living in these two regions," he said.
He emphasized that the protection of Cycloop is not only the responsibility of the government as the primary stakeholder.
"The involvement of customary councils, entrepreneurs, and the community is crucial so that area management policies can be implemented more effectively," he added.
"Other government partners must also be involved. If they are not included in a shared vision, the government will face obstacles in future management," he further stated. ***
