JAYAPURA– Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, has urged the Papua General Election Commission to promptly draft a budget proposal for the Re-Election of the Papua Regional Elections. The proposal will be reviewed by the provincial budget team before final approval.
"The budget allocation is still awaiting submission from the General Election Commission. However, we assure that the funding will come entirely from the Regional Budget of Papua," said Ramses.
He added that the provincial government would also coordinate with the Ministry of Home Affairs to seek additional funding solutions.
"Hopefully, there will be support from the central government to ensure a smooth re-election process without straining the regional budget," Ramses stated.
Emphasizing budget efficiency, Ramses called for a reduction in non-essential expenses to prevent unnecessary spending.
"I stress the need for budget efficiency. Meetings should be held in offices instead of hotels, and official travel should be minimized to save costs," he concluded. ***
