JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government, the General Election Commission (KPU), the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu), and security forces have agreed on a budget of IDR 189 billion for the re-vote of the Papua gubernatorial election.
This decision was made after the re-election funding memorandum of agreement was signed on Thursday (March 6) on the 4th floor of the Papua Governor’s Office.
"After receiving proposals from each organizing and security party, a review was conducted until the amount was agreed upon," said the Governor.
He stated that what has been agreed upon will be followed up. Since the General Election Commissionhas a remaining budget surplus (SILPA) of IDR 47 billion, an addendum to the previous Grant Agreement (NPHD) was made to allow its use.
"The funding comes from the Papua provincial budget. As for efficiency measures, that is the responsibility of the Regional Government Budget Team," he said.
Ramses assured that the budget would not affect the rights of civil servants within the provincial government.
"The rights of civil servants have been secured for one year, so there will be no issues," he concluded. ***
