JAYAPURA – The Papua Provincial Government has confirmed that all transportation fleets are prepared to accommodate the surge of travelers during the 1446 Hijri Eid homecoming period.
Integrated posts will be set up in nine regencies and cities to ensure smooth public travel via land, sea, and air routes.
David Telegen, the Acting Head of the Papua Transportation Agency, stated that these posts would start operating on March 21, 2025.
"These posts are part of our collaboration with various relevant agencies, including KSOP, Pelindo, Pelni, airports, and airlines," he said.
According to David, transportation operators have devised strategies to manage the expected surge in passengers, which is anticipated to peak two days before Eid and during the return flow.
"We are ensuring that all fleets and supporting facilities are ready so people can travel safely and comfortably," he added. ***
