JAYAPURA– Pertamina representatives and Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong, held a meeting to discuss fuel stock availability in Papua at the Governor’s Office on Tuesday (March 18).
The governor welcomed PT Pertamina’s support in ensuring the fuel supply ahead of Eid al-Fitr 2025 in Papua.
Ramses stated that one of Pertamina’s key responsibilities is to restore public trust in fuel distribution.
"Pertamina's first task is to reassure the public and regain their trust, and this must be done on a large scale," said Ramses.
He also emphasized that aside from securing fuel stock for the next 25 days, ensuring smooth distribution to gas stations across Papua is equally important.
"Fuel distribution must be timely for each gas station in cities and regencies," he explained.
He expressed hope for Pertamina’s support in assisting local entrepreneurs, particularly in increasing the number of gas stations in the region.
"Gas stations in Papua are still limited; we need more," he stated.
The Acting Governor also reminded Pertamina to continue monitoring fuel prices in Papua, which remain relatively high in certain areas.
Additionally, he urged the Fuel Task Force to work diligently in preventing fuel hoarding in Papua, ensuring strict oversight. ***
