JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Contingent made a proud result at the grand event of the XIII National Ecclesiastical Choir Party (Pesparawi), Yogyakarta.
Where at the national level event, the Papua Province team managed to win 12 medals from 12 categories that were contested.
A total of 10 gold medals and 2 silver medals were brought home to be presented to all Papuans.
The Head of the Regional Pesparawi Development Institute (LPPD) of Papua Province, Elia Loupatty was satisfied with the results. Moreover, the medals produced are slightly better than the previous national-level event.
"The achievements increased compared to the past. The point is that the results this time are very good and proud," explained Elia Loupatty, Monday (27/6/2022).
Elia on that occasion appreciated the Papuan contingent for being able to divide their time to train in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Meanwhile, although not optimal, it has succeeded in making Papua proud in the national level competition scene.
"Imagine, just the last four or five months have just been practicing smoothly. But the result is better than the previous Pesparawi. Thank you to the LPPD coaches and friends who have trainned the contingent. Hopefully in the future it will be even better," he said.
Elia added that the competition between provinces in the XIII National Pesparawi which took place in Yogyakarta was very strict. This indicates that LPPD throughout the province is growing, developing and advancing.
"When compared to the previous event in Kalimantan and Ambon, in terms of quality, it has been better. Then there was participation throughout the region as well as a joy in itself, because on average there are medals in each province," he said.
At the Pesparawi Nasional XIII event, the North Sumatra Province contingent won the General Champion with 12 gold medals.
This event was also accompanied by the Pesparawi XIII National Deliberation and West Papua Province as the host of the XIV National Ecclesiastical Choir Party in 2025. ***
