JAYAPURA - Like the previous year, the celebration of Indonesia's anniversary on August 17, 2023, is planned to be refocusedat Lukas Enembe Stadium, Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency.
The appointment of Lukas Enembe Stadium has some reasons. Large parking lots are the main consideration so that the momentum of the celebration does not interfere with the activities of residents in Jayapura City.
"From the results of a meeting with related parties this afternoon at the Governor Office, led by the Acting Assistant Secretary of Papua for Economic Affairs and People Welfare, Suzana Wanggai, it is planned that Lukas Enembe Stadium will again become the center of Indonesian Independence Day this year."
"Of course, for the same reasons as the previous year. The stadium has a large parking area. So that the celebration center at Lukas Enembe Stadium is the most appropriate option," explained the Head of the Communication and Information Department of Papua, Jeri A. Yudianto, Tuesday (13/6/2023) in Jayapura.
According to Jeri, currently, the committee structure for the 2023 Indonesian Independence Day has been formed. Nevertheless, the Papua Provincial Government is still waiting for technical instructions from the Central Government regarding its implementation.
The Head of the Communication and Informatics Department of Papua added that in her direction as the leader of the meeting, Assistant Suzana Wanggai firmly requested that the 2023 Indonesian Independence Day be carried out with great fanfare and wisdom.
The Indonesian Independence Day celebration will also invite and present several regional leaders and governors from New Autonomous Regions and the closest country Papua New Guinea. ***
