JAYAPURA - Assistant for Government Affairs of the Papua Regional Secretariat Yohanis Walilo ensured that the commemoration of 2024 National Children's Day in Papua would involve thousands of indigenous Papuan sons and daughters.
Yohanis conveyed this after leading the meeting of National Children's Day commemoration with the Acting Mayor of Jayapura, the Acting Regent of Jayapura Regency and other related agencies at the Papua Governor's Office, Jayapura City, Wednesday (3/7/2024).
"We confirmed how many smart children and colossal dancers will be used. The point is that there are thousands of Papuan children, but we are making sure whether 3,000 or 2,000 people will still use it, so there is certainty regarding transportation costs," said Yohanis.
He added that with two weeks left, he hopes that all preparations can run as they should because this national agenda is the last visit during the leadership of President Joko Widodo.
"We want to give the best impression at the end of the President's term."
"We also want to show that Papuan children can also hold national events and get a MURI record," he said.
Meanwhile, Yohanis ensured that preparations for the 2024 National Children's Day, which is located in Papua Bangkit Stadium, were around 70 percent.
"Currently, our preparations are 70 percent, the arrangement of the event has been discussed, then about the preparation of the colossal dance and the duration needed."
"We have also conveyed the schedule of events to the Ministry of Home Affairs so that facilities and other technical matters have been prepared," he said. ***
