JAYAPURA - The Papua Provincial Election Supervisory Agency held a briefing at the Aston Hotel, Jayapura City, Monday (25/11/2024).
The briefing was led by the Chairman of the Election Supervisory Agency of Papua, Hardin Halidin in the stages of the calm period, voting and vote counting for the 2024 Regional Elections.
Chairman of Election Supervisory Agency of Papua, Hardin Halidin reminded all supervisory ranks in Papua to always maintain integrity and professionalism in carrying out supervisory duties.
Election supervisors are also asked to always adhere to the principles of fairness and neutrality.
"Don't be influenced by pressure or intervention from any party. The stages of the quiet period and voting and vote counting are crucial moments in the democratic process," said Hardin.
He continued, that supervisors have a great responsibility to ensure that this process runs well, is fair and free from violations.
"Build positive coordination and synergy with Voting Organizing Group witnesses of candidate pairs and observers of the Regional Elections and public," he said.
Hardin also emphasized to supervisors to ensure that every citizen who has the right to vote can channel their political rights and make sure that those who do not have the right to vote do not take advantage of the opportunity to cheat by voting," he said.
Hardin added that this briefing has a very important meaning, especially ahead of the quiet period, voting and vote counting.
"This is a momentum for us to strengthen our commitment and enthusiasm in carrying out election supervision duties," he said again.
He also hopes that as the front line in maintaining the integrity and quality of elections, supervisors are required to always be ready, work professionally, and uphold democratic values.
"Our task is not easy, but with a strong spirit of togetherness and synergy, I am sure we can overcome all the challenges. Let's make the Regional Elections an event to strengthen democracy and realize a better Papua," he said. ***
