JAYAPURA—Unlike last year, the first meeting of the year with civil servants, held as a joint briefing in the room, took place at the Lukmen 2 Hall on Monday, January 6, 2025, to receive the inaugural direction of the Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong.
Starting his direction, Limbong wished a Merry Christmas to all the civil servants of the Papua Provincial Government who celebrated and conveyed Happy New Year greetings.
This new year should bring new hope for individuals and organizations, and take advantage of the momentum of the new year to do self-reflection to create joy in ourselves by doing our work as individuals who are responsible to God, said Limbong.
Furthermore, Limbong said, "Work sincerely, don't work based on groups, don't think only for our own benefit or certain groups, don't make imperfections a justification for not working well and sincerely," said Limbong.
From now on, work to create a good working atmosphere, but don't be careless. We as civil servants have a responsibility to work well. "I hope we can be consistent in doing what we can do for Papua," he added.
Ramses Limbong also conveyed some emphasis regarding the receipt of local revenue by utilizing government facilities that can be a source of income such as Wisma Atlet, Cenderawasih Sports Center and swimming pool at Lukas Enembe Stadium. "Make breakthroughs and make innovations by collaborating with third parties who can manage," said Limbong.
The implementation of duties in each Regional Work Unit is also a concern for Ramses Limbong by emphasizing the need for consistency and leadership patterns that refer to responsibility and togetherness. Delegation of duties in stages from the leadership to the subordinates is an absolute thing that must be carried out, for that it is important to place members who really have competence, not based on wishes or will, he said.
Ending his remarks, Limbong invited all civil servants of the Papua Provincial Government to change their mindset, "Let's work to turn challenges into opportunities, let's manage this Land of Papua well by carrying out our respective duties and responsibilities, starting from presence, starting from planning so that we know the direction we are going," he concluded. ***
