JAYAPURA – The Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong instructed the local Civil Service Agency (BKD) to review the implementation of the merit system for state civil servants in his area.
This is related to the many positions of acting officials in the Papua Provincial Government, until now it has become the attention of the Minister of Home Affairs, so it is necessary to immediately take the opportunityto evaluate and fill in the definitive officials.
"In Papua Province, the problem is too many officials on duty. I don't understand what happened. This is also the attention of the Minister of Home Affairs, it will be immediately evaluated and definedthrough the existing mechanism (merit system)," said Ramses in Jayapura, Friday (9/8/2024).
According to Ramses, the authority of the acting officer has limitations so public services cannot run optimally.
Therefore, he asked the Papua Regional Civil Service Agency to immediately process the filling of vacant positions within the local government so that services to the community will be more optimal
"If the administration does not comply, well, wait first, don't force to be the Acting Officer".
"If we have met the rules, we will talk in terms of competence. Those two are enough to determine the seeds of superior officials in Papua," he said.
Ramses added that he did not have authority in the process of filling the definitive official position. The authority, Ramses continued, is fully in the central government.
"The mechanism will be made by the Regional Civil Service Agency, what kind of system will be used," he concluded. ***
