JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua Ramses Limbong endorsed 45 members of the Selection Committee of the Regency/City House of Representatives (DPRK).
The inauguration took place at the local Governor's Office, Soa Siu Street Dok II, Jayapura City, Wednesday (11/9/2024), witnessed by regents and mayors, as well as the Regional Leadership Coordination Forum and Heads of Regional Apparatus Organizations within the Papua Provincial Government.
Governor Ramses on that occasion advised all regents and mayors to immediately facilitate the implementation of the selection stage.
He also advised the inaugurated members of the Selection Committee to immediately draft regulations as technical instructions for further implementation and carry out their duties, authorities, and obligations as stipulated in Governor's Regulation Number 43 of 2024 Articles 19, 20 and 21.
"The implementation of the stages of filling 11 DPRP members is still waiting for the determination of the Selection Committee of DPRP by the Minister of Home Affairs."
"Filling DPRP membership through the appointment mechanism can also be carried out immediately," he said.
The allocation of seats for the DPRK of each district/city in Jayapura City is a maximum of 9 seats; Jayapura Regency has a maximum of 8 seats, Keerom Regency has a maximum of 5 seats, Sarmi Regency has a maximum of 5 seats, Biak Numfor Regency has a maximum of 6 seats, and Supiori Regency has a maximum of 5 seats.
Furthermore, Yapen Islands Regency has a maximum of 6 seats, Waropen Regency has a maximum of 5 seats and Mamberamo Raya Regency has a maximum of 5 seats.
The filling of DPRP membership through the appointment mechanism for the 2024-2029 period has entered the 3rd period since 2014, while the filling of DPRK membership through this appointment mechanism is the first time it has been done.
In the inauguration activity, working documents of the selection of DPRP and DPRK membership were also handed over through the appointment mechanism for the 2024-2029 period. ***
