JAYAPURA - Acting Governor of Papua, Ramses Limbong wants the Bring Village in Jayapura Regency to be an example of independence that can be achieved by other regions in Papua, in terms of improving the economy broadly.
Limbong appreciated the community, village heads, government officials, and local traditional and religious leaders who have worked together in realizing Bring Village as a Pilot Project of Smart Village in Papua Province.
"We appreciate all parties who have played an active role in the preparation and implementation of this program as part of strategic steps to build an independent village."
"We hope that this village will become a model of independent villages that can be imitated by other regions in Papua," explained Limbong during his working visit to Jayapura Regency, Friday (13/9/2024).
According to Limbong, the Papua Provincial Government is currently continuing to strengthen the local economy through potential-based empowerment including through the development of MSMEs. Then the strengthening of the creative economy is encouraged as one of the ways to increase community income and create jobs in the village.
Meanwhile, the Papua Provincial Government continues to ensure community food security and grow an independent village economy. These efforts include diversification of local food, including the processing and distribution of agricultural products with the involvement of villagers from the development stage to its implementation.
