MEDAN - Acting Governor of Papua Maj. Gen. TNI (Ret.) Ramses Limbong, SIP, M. Si and his wife had dinner with the Papuan PON contingent on the sidelines of his visit ahead of the closing ceremony of PON XXI, at one of the restaurants, in Medan, Thursday (19/9/2024).
Limbong ensures that the Regional Government remains concerned about athlete rewards. This money is expected to be allocated to the Main Budget for the 2025 fiscal year, with the value adjusted to the Papua Provincial Government's fiscal capacity.
"We appreciate the efforts made by the athletes and contingent at this grand event which brings the good name of Papua, in dynamics and fiscal limitations in Papua compared to the previous PON," said Limbong.
Meanwhile, Assistant Secretary for General Administration and Chairman of the Papua Contingent Derek Y. Hegemur, SH, MH was also proud of the achievements of Papuan athletes in PON XXI Aceh and North Sumatra.
"We appreciate the struggle of the athletes. Especially when the Acting Governor as a parent in the last days of the match can present the best for Papua," he said.
Just for the record, the dinner was packaged and briefly for no more than an hour, full of familiarity and ended with a photo with the athletes and officials.
Meanwhile, ahead of the closing of PON XXI, Papuan athlete Farel Armando Tangkas, who competed in backstroke swimming, presented a gold medal.
