PT Telkom Indonesia guarantees the availability of a capable Information and Communication Technology (ICT) network throughout the implementation of National Sports Week (PON) XX Papua 2021.

The guarantee was delivered by Local Government Service General Manager Telkom Yanto Setiawan in front of the National Sports Week Committee group led by General Secretary Elia Loupatty.

The meeting took place at the Living Lab. Smart City, Gunung Sahari, central Jakarta, Wednesday (4/11/2020). Also present was the Head of Papua Community Office, Jery A. Yudianto and Secretary of Public Relations and PPM PON XX Papua Kadkis Matdoan.

"Telkom is ready to supply ICT infrastructure throughout the National Sports Week event in Papua because PON is a national event. In essence as SOEs we must be ready, even one month before the implementation of National Sports Week, supporting infrastructure facilities will already be prepared," he explained.

Nevertheless, Yanto said, in the future National Sports Week Committee Papua and PT Telkom should discuss all the needs of the Telkom network that will be connected to the venue.

PT Telkom has also allocated the network infrastructure development budget to the National Sports Week venue.

"But the budget is still waiting for the leadership. That way we want to say that in principle we are ready, as the SOE of Telkom Group deserves to make this four-yearly sports party," he said.

General Secretary of National Sports Week Committee Papua, Elia Loupatty appreciated the spirit of Telkom to succeed the four-yearly event.

"We definitely want to be here so that there is a guarantee of the availability of telecommunication facilities. Both at Lukas Enembe Stadium as the venue for the opening and closing ceremonies of National Sports Week and the venues in each cluster," he said.

Loupatty added, National Sports Week Committee Papua has received the Budget Plan (RAB) sent by PT Telkom. However, it expects both PT Telkom and PT PLN must be ready one month before the implementation of National Sports Week.

"This is because friends from other fields in the National Sports Week Committee have to provide other supporting facilities at each venue," he said.

Known, National Sports Week  XX Papua agenda will take place on October 2-14, 2021.
