Head of Sports and Youth Office, Alexander Kapisa said a number of venues built from regional budget and state budget funds, have now been completed 100 percent.

Nevertheless, there is still a need for other supporting infrastructure to ensure that each venue can compete with all sports to the maximum.

"That's why we need to work with the relevant agencies to support the completion of the environment in each venue".

"Indeed a number of venues have been completed, but still need supporting infrastructure such as lighting, clean water, regional arrangements, and this is the task of the related Regional Apparatus Organization," explained Alexander Kapisa in Jayapura, Thursday (12/11/2020).

While ensuring that the supporting infrastructure is prepared immediately, the Papua Provincial Government has already held a meeting with the National Sports Week Committee XX.

The meeting, which took place on Wednesday, also discussed the progress of venue construction spread across four clusters of National Sports Week, namely, Jayapura City, Jayapura Regency, Mimika and Merauke.

"That is, in the coordination meeting, discussed about the needs of supporting infrastructure that the relevant Regional Apparatus Organization will be prepared in the province. An example for public works agencies that prepare regional arrangements, clean water, and entrances to each venue," he said. 

The Governor of Papua, Lukas Enembe, has previously inaugurated Lukas Enembe Stadium in Kampung Harapan, Jayapura Regency, Friday (10/23/2020), along with a number of other venues.

Namely, Jayapura's indoor and outdoor shooting fields, Jayapura baseball and softball fields, Volleyball Arena Sport Center in Koya Koso, Tennis courts in the Mayor's Office, STT Gidi Arena Sport Center Sentani, and Futsal and Billiards courts Mimika.
